It is clear that the CNAME option would be like a premium with such opportunities and I deeply believe that it will be available one day, maybe soon. However, there is so much worth mentioning things right now that largely overshadow that one current impossibility.
As mentioned, this is a platform that offers the ability to connect the whole team, send files (so you can forget about WeTransfer because the file size is unlimited), there is also a calendar option that can be synced with Google Calendar and a possibility to set tasks. The most important for me would be an option that is a serious alternative to Zoom. It’s amazing what comes in a package that also allows branding.
I am satisfied with the choice and with all the possibilities that make work much easier. It’s a good offer for a small price. The support is there, listens, and reacts to both questions and feedback from users.
I will test it and update the review with more specific details.
For now, I am one happy user. 🙂

Mattermost and Jitsi are the most enterprise grade open-source alternatives (when properly integrated) to replace Slack completely, except for the plugin ecosystems. Many large companies have done that switch to opensource successfully. However, for SMB’s such implementation becomes extremely complex to set up and maintain.

Noysi here has done a fabulous job of launching that as a solution for everyone out there, whether large company or small. They have added major improvements to mattermost such as adding a task manager among other things. They have also done a great job of integrating jitsi so well that all channel meetings can be recorded and shared immediately within channel. This is unlimited online recording storage 🙌 and immediate sharing of recording with participants.

And that’s the other thing. Opensource allows you to have complete control without any paywall based limitations. A SaaS typically does not give all controls to you and also implements limitations per membership levels. This Noysi offer is one of those very rare SaaS offers that has no limitations at all.

The only thing you can do more in case of open source mattermost is to leverage a wider plugin ecosystem than the one Noysi offers you. But Noysi has made so much improvement over mattermost, that it overshadows that one issue.

Hence, the product is as robust as it can get (years of development), and the company which is hosting/providing the service seems to be on solid footing as well as per their crunchbase profile.

If you are looking to replace slack, there is not a better deal than this anywhere right now, and I doubt if any can ever be made better than this.

Another can be feast/famine–lots of promises with startup companies that fizzle out due to their inability to pivot into viable companies.

Not so for Noysi. This is a side project for the team with their aim at collecting feedback and experimenting with features while their bread/butter business is connected with government and multinational backbones (ie. stable).

I’ve been patrolling the comments/questions as well and have appreciated how they’ve replied and vetted some unreasonable queries of other users. The forced deletion after 60 days of rest is a bit much–hibernation would be a nice alternative though I plan on using it all the time.

The company is not a dropbox or storage alternative. Those of you who are “hacking” the product for this reason need not be upset when the rug is pulled. If it was a cold storage program if would advertise as such. Unlimited storage in the context of what the program is designed for is a wonderful perk that I’d hate to lose due to abuse. The company is listening to us and making changes based on feedback–which is a great perk on an already polished product.

Its a comms hub–a slack/teams alternative with all the bells/whistles built in without the extra cost. It is a polished program with great execution across platforms complete with apps for mobile devices.

This is the real thing ya’ll. A rare bird.

Here is my first impressions review.

Onboarding after purchase is a bit cumbersome. The link drops onto a page with login, but not a register form. I finally figured out how that I need to click on free trial top left. I think that deep link would be better for people coming from here.

Being a design sensible person… the colors and gradient are all over the place on this product. Could use a little more “calmness” and neutral coloring. That said, after creating my first team space, I was able to change the colors a bit and upload on square logo. The logo and colors are not respected in the conference area, though. I am aware that this isn’t white-labeled, but I’d rather have the brand be less dominate.

The side panel needs some love to. Clicking on “Chat” does nothing, and clicking on “Meeting” opens a new tab instantly. So, be prepared for some ruff edges in UI and feeling. The technological side seems to be up to speed.

Hosting is in Europe (Hetzner + Google Cloud) and therefor needs to be inherently GDPR-compliant. The limits are really generous, although I still don’t understand if I can store my brand manual on the platform or if that is deleted after 6 months. As I understand it … it is only for transient data. Having a small fault for things that should be automatically deleted would be good (like pinning a file in this “stream”).

Overall, it seems to have a solid foundation and standing (5yrs), but at least as a SaaS it is only now really showing some visibility and the ProductHunt entry collected some dust, but I hope this will do something for the product.

Conclusion of first impressions:
Get in for the limits, seems to work good, and my hope is on some love and refinement of the UI/workflows.
