Pulsar Smasher is a very easy to use plug-in, consisting of an extreme and aggressive compressor, ideal for raising the level of ambiences in a drum bus, but also for adding presence to vocals, or warming up guitars or basses. This program is available as a plug-in in VST2, VST3, AU and AAX formats for use with all major DAW software such as Live, Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, etc.
Pulsar Smasher is an unprecedented custom modification of the 1176 compressor circuit, which we stumbled upon while fine-tuning other algorithms. It can add thickness and grit to any drum or bass track, or completely crush a bus, producing an aggressive sound, impossible to achieve with other plugins.
The modelling technology guarantees a perfect emulation of the original device’s behavior. From the saturation of the magnetic flux in the inductors, to the precise response of the transistors, to the effects of tiny calibration defects, everything is perfectly reproduced.
By using parallel compression, one can thick up a sound, adding sustain, without loosing the dynamic of the whole track. The Mix knob of the Smasher will allow precise adjustment of how much thickness you want to add to your sound.
Pulsar Smasher consumes as few system resources as possible – despite the complex algorithms at work. Smasher takes full advantage of modern CPUs to do more with less. But if your computer can stand it and you enjoy making it suffer, you can always turn oversampling on, processing at rates up to 384kHz!

- Bypass: Switch toggles between the sound processed by the plug-in (Active mode) and the unprocessed input sound (Bypass mode).
- Input: Adjust the gain that is applied to the input signal from -24 dB to +24 dB
- Output: Adjust the gain applied after the compression stage.
- Mix: Dose the amount of compressed signal (100%) and unprocessed original signal (0%).
- Undo / Redo: Respectively the cancellation and restoration of the last action.
- Preset Selection: Select a preset from the list of available presets, arranged in sub-banks
- Save / Save As: saves the current prese or saves the current state of the plug-in under a new preset name.
- A / B: Compare 2 different states of the plug-in, or 2 different presets.
- Oversampling: Allow sound to be processed at a higher sampling rate within the plug-in, in return for higher latency and CPU consumption.
