You choose a tempo, load a preset, and trigger one of 14 BPM-synced samples laid out across two octaves on your MIDI controller. White keys fire drum samples and loops. Four macros (Drive, Mod Delay, Static, and Lo-Fi) control a specialised chain of effects tuned to the drum samples. Compared with the full version, the Lite edition leaves out the built-in sequencer and some advanced modulation features. If you outgrow the Lite edition, you can upgrade to the full Bloom Drum Machine.
Sounds were sampled from vintage analog gear, early digital drum units, and modern synths. Excite Audio recorded signature tones directly from analog drum synthesisers that defined the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The team also recorded and processed live drums through analog hardware and digital mixing techniques, similar to those used to build sample-based grooveboxes. The result is a set of drums with warmth, punch, and character.
