GiMeSpace Cam Control Pro Review at a Glance
GiMeSpace Cam Control Pro allows you to control your computer by moving your hands in front of your webcam. You can use this to move your mouse pointer, to simulate the cursor keys. There are 5 gestures:
- move in a horizontal direction while your hand is vertical.
- move in a vertical direction while your hand is horizontal.
- move in a horizontal direction with 2 hands making a ‘zooming’ gesture.
- left mouse click by moving your hand in the left upper corner.
- right mouse click by doing the left click plus moving the right hand in the right upper corner.
You can also iether simulate mouse movements & clicks, cursor keys or control a GiMeSpace virtual desktop manager. For this, you need to use one that is capable of this. These are the minimum versions that support this:
- GiMeSpace Desktop Extender version 2.3.0
- GiMeSpace Desktop Extender 3D version 3.1.0
Adjust the sensitivity and the scroll/movement speeds by adjusting the trackbars. You will need to experiment a bit to find the ideal settings. In rooms with poor or uneven light, it becomes more difficult to have good results. In that case, it is good to increase the contrast and saturation of the camera.
Getting the settings right can be a bit tricky, in general, it is good to increase the contrast and saturation of the webcam picture by clicking on the Properties button in the options tab so it is easier for this program to recognize your hand movements.
The webcam picture on the options tab is only being shown when this window has focused so that you can test the results of your settings. When this window does not have focus then no feedback is shown so there is minimum impact on your system performance and great responsiveness to your gestures.
